Vesna Manasieva, BSc (Hons) TCM; MSc Pharmacology
Traditional Chinese Medicine & Acupuncturist
Vesna is a fully qualified Chinese Medicine practitioner and a member of the Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture UK (ATCM). She graduated with first-class honours, BSc in Traditional Chinese Medicine, at Middlesex University and has extensive knowledge and experience in acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine. Vesna practised TCM for 4 years at Whittington & Royal Free Hospital, as well as the Park Clinic for complementary and alternative medicine at Middlesex University.
As an acupuncturist, Vesna has been successful in treating pain conditions with Acupuncture, such as lower back pain, shoulder, knee and neck pain. Additionally, she has a proven record of experience in treating emotional, digestive and gynaecological problems.
Vesna is also a fully qualified pharmacologist and is highly knowledgeable in the pharmacological actions of medicinal plants. She has extensive research experience in Chinese and western herbal pharmacology.
There is a growing body of research, which indicates that traditional uses of plant remedies and the known pharmacological activity of plant constituents often coincide.
Vesna incorporates the traditional use of Chinese medicinal plants, and recent pharmacological research and biomedical knowledge when prescribing herbal formulae.
She prescribes herbal formulae, as a combination of specifically selected Chinese herbs, according to every individual patient needs. The different components of a formulae balance each other, and they undergo a mutual synergy, which would increase efficacy and enhance safety.
Vesna prescribes Chinese Herbal Medicine for specific medical conditions, such as digestive and emotional problems (depression, stress, anxiety), insomnia, infertility and menopause.
