Psychotherapist/Counsellor MA, MBACP (accredited)
I am a highly experienced Psychodynamic Counsellor and Psychotherapist with a warm approach. I provide a safe, regular space in which to explore your problems and reflect on your thoughts and feelings and will listen to you in a non-judgemental and open way. My aim is to help you make sense of your feelings, gain greater self-awareness and a stronger sense of self. You will gain insight, wisdom and other perspectives so that change becomes possible.
Sometimes how you feel cannot be easily defined but you know that things feel wrong or that you are unhappy; or you may be feeling overwhelmed, confused, angry, isolated or distressed.
I am highly experienced at working with people who have struggled with issues such as:
anxiety or panic attacks
feeling depressed or low
illness or bereavement
low self-esteem or unassertiveness
trauma or abuse
addiction, eating disorders or self-harm
I provide ongoing and short-term therapy for individuals to men and women of all ages and backgrounds. Sometimes it can feel daunting or difficult to make the step towards seeking help and I recognise this. Please feel free to call or email me.
I trained intensively for four and a half years for a Masters’ degree and Post-graduate Diploma in Contemporary Therapeutic Counselling at the University of Hertfordshire. I also have a BA (Hons) degree from the University of Leeds.
I am an accredited member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). This means that my practice meets a high level of competence.
I also use my expertise to write workshops and am currently delivering them for trainee and qualified therapists at the WPF Therapy institute.
